델프트 하우트에서 소박하게 바베큐 파티를 했더랬다. 패뚜릭, 올라푸, 수미트라, 폴이랑 다같이. 처음에 뇽뇽이라고 한쿡 친구랑 둘이서 같이 김밥 싸들고 (물론 뇽뇽이가 만들었다. 하하!) 갔었는데 너무 좋은거라!!! 그래서 애들한테 가자, 가자, 해가지고는 같이 갔더랬다. 수미트라가 바베큐 그릴 들고 오고... 다같이 고기랑 숯이랑 사가지고 랄라라~

아 이제 다시 이렇게 바베큐 파티하러 갈일은 또 없겠지. 흑. ㅠㅠ 패뚜릭은 9월 3일날 떠나고... 올라푸는 9월 7일... 수미트라랑 폴도 9월 언젠가... 다들 가버린다. :_: 훌쩍... 그래도 꿋꿋하게 다른 친구들이랑 잘 놀아야지... :_: 잉...

31052009-Susan's greenlight party!

오월끝무렵, 수잔이 그린라이트를 받았더랬다. 같이 입학한 친구들 중에서 제일 먼저 그린라잇을 받아서 축하!!! 파티를 했다. 파티라고는 하지만 대단할 것도 없고... 걍 같이 저녁 먹고 술마시고 내가 만든 그린라잇왕관!!!! 을 수잔에게 증정!!! 하하하하. 아무튼 수잔은 그리고서 얼마 전에 일착으로 무사 졸업했다. 허허허. 어찌나 똘똘이인지 제일 먼저 졸업하면서 졸업 연구 9점 받았다;ㅁ; 이런 멋쟁이!!!!!

아 글고 방금 전에는 수잔이 로테르담으로 잠시 이사간 집에 놀러갔다 왔더랬다. 낸시랑 셋이서 점심 먹고 수다좀 떨고 티비 좀 보다가 왔다. 아아. 역시 일요일은 이렇게 한가져서 좋구나아~ :D

내일부터는 다시 학교가서 열심히 졸업연구해야지~ 랄라라~

아, 맞다. 그저께 정키가 자전거 훔쳐갔다. 아흑. ㅠㅠ 그렇게 후진 자전거를 훔쳐가다니. ㅠㅠ 락이라도 좀 떨궈놓고 가지.. ㅠㅠ 나는 내가 어디 잘못 놔뒀나 싶어서 한참 동네를 헤비고 다녔잖아... ㅠㅠ 흑흑... 그래도 암튼 바로 새 자전거를 구하기는 구한듯도 싶은데... 타이어를 교체해야 되어서... 이거 타이어 얼마하는지부터 알아야.... =ㅅ= 흠흠... 내일은 일단 학교보다 이전에 자전거 부품집부터 가야하겠구나 그러고보니!!!!

27062009-Ske and Olav's birthday party!

생일이라고 또 생일 파티도 했었네. 올라푸 생일이랑 내 생일이랑 거의 붙어 있어서 합동 생일 파티. 사진 찍기 전에 같이 저녁 먹을 때는 샤론이랑 정하옵바랑 노리코도 있었는데... 술 한참 마시다가 사진 찍으니 이렇게 항상 보이는 사람들만 있다. 미리 사진 찍어둘껄! 언제나처럼 올라푸, 패뚜릭, 아시푸, 안드레아스가 있었고..., 수미트라랑 카롤린, 노리코, 샤론과 정하옵바가 있었다. 크지도 작지도 않게 아름다웠던 생일 파티 (:-)) 에또... 마지막 사진은 패뚜릭-거인-컨셉 아닌 컨셉이 되어버렸다. 수미트라는 패뚜릭이랑 거의 키 같은데도 키높이를 나랑 올라푸, 아시푸한테 맞춰줬는데 쟈는 뭐 저리 뻣뻣하게 서있노. =_=

오늘 예전 집 청소를 마치고... 인스펙션도 받고... 짐도 다 새집으로 옮겼고... 내일 하우징 오피스 가서 디파짓 받고 키반납하기만 하면 된다. 새집은 샤워도 내 방 안에서 할 수 있고... 요리도 내 방 안에서 할 수 있어서 좋다. 쉐어하는 거 뭐가 어때~ 싶었는데 역시 혼자 쓰는게 좋기는 좋다. 만세.

30042009-Queen's day in Amsterdam

이거는 지난 4월 30일 퀸즈 데이날에 암스테르담 갔었을 때 찍었던 사진들. 사진기가 올라푸 꺼였는데 갸가 사진을 계속 안 보내주다가 바로 얼마 전에 보내줬어가지고는 뒤늦은 포스팅이 되겠다. 안드레아스, 올라푸, 수미트라, 카롤린, 다비드, 패뚜릭이랑 다같이 퀸즈데이에 더치애들 뭐하고 노나 구경하러 갔더랬다. (아, 카롤린이 더치라서 야가 우리들을 여기저기 데리고 다녔다. 훌룽한 그녀!!!) 근데 사실 뭐 볼 거는 별로 없고... 기차역부터 시작해서 암스테르담 전체가 사람들로 버글버글하고 (3분에 100미터 걸을 수 있는 정도=_=) 다들 대낮부터 맥주를 진창 마시고 있고 (길에서 아무나 다 맥주를 판다. 이거 뭐 즈그 동네 슈퍼에서 싸게 사다가 자기네들 마시다 남는거 비싸게 파는 느낌 =_=) 커널에 보트도 와글바글 하고 더치 로얄 빼밀리 색깔인 오렝지 색이 여기저기 가득하고... 그랬다. =_= 뭔가 일생에 한번!!! 경험할 만한 것이긴 한데 다시는 가고 싶지는 않다. =_= 이건 뭐랄까... 연말에 서울 종각에서 보신각 종칠때 거 나가가지고는 불꽃놀이 하고 종치는거 밤새 보는 거 대딩때 한 번 하고서, 아아... 다시는 나오지 말아야지... 하고 결심했던 거랑 같은 건거 같다. =_= 그래도 뭐... 함 갔었으니까!!! 되었다!!!!

아 글고 방학 했는데도 꽤나 바빴다. 졸업 연구 프로젝트 구하느라 여기저기 회사들 찔러보느라 괜시리 바빴고... 새로살 집 구하느라도 괜시리 바빴고... 근데 암튼 이제 다 해결!!! 졸업 연구도 구했고 집도 구했다!!! 만만세!!!! >_</

South Korea, the most weird country, in which tightly guarded police are thretening the people in the memorial ceremony for the former president, Roh Moo-hyun

south korea is really weird contry whose police are preventing a people from gathering together to mourn their ex-president even in a peaceful way. police blocked seoul square and chunggae square, which are supposed to be opened to seoul citizens for whatever purpose as long as it's peaceful, by putting the police buses surrounding the squares. they even blocked the exit of the subway station near the squares. they look like considering the memorial ceremony and service as a potential brutal protest.

People back in south korea said "this is really odd because I can see enormous number of police anywhere in this country even though there is no war, no violent or aggressive demonstration, and no other threatening actions police have to be around." one korean newspaper reported that 1,000 of riot police were positioned in the entrance of Deoksu Palace to control visitors' coming and going. 1,000 riot police only for that. the more riot police were spreaded more widely. it's rather spooky that riot police are here and there, almost everywhere in seoul, not because of national crisis or emergency like serious bombing terrorism but because of the nonviolent memorial ceremony for the former president.

what is this government fearing about? why is it getting the mourning people encircled by riot police? why is it afraid of people's gathering? maybe... this government might have something very wrong they did, that all the cowards in there want not to be uncovered due to the possible massive brutal reactions likely to happen towards them after being uncovered. or are they enjoying their new style of governing, dictatorship with armed authority power? and one more thing... the current president, Lee Myung-bak, is the guy who blocked up all the possible places people can gather to mourn together, right after he said "it is of great sorrow and deep sadness." as if he also felt very sorry. Lee government is often like this. saying is saying and action is action. they hardly go together. I am so ashamed that I have such a bad government now.

How much Koream people love and respect the ex-president of South Korea, Roh Moo-hyun

After his death, more than one million koreans visited the place of funeral, Bongha Village, to express their condolences to his family and mourn for him. Around 300 places to burn incense for him were arranged across the country in order for all the people who want to grieve over their hero's death but are not able to go to Bongha Village. The number of total visitors to every place exceeded four millions, which is the biggest number of condolence callers in modern korean history. Look at the first picture, the road is full of a steady stream of visitors to his place.

One big memorial ceremony took place in front of Deoksu Palace, Seoul, as well. A lot of people, regardless of their age, sex, religion, and nationality, went to the memorial service and ceremony. They were holding and putting a blossom of white chrysanthemum, hanging the national flags and his pictures and yellow ribbons all over the places. They wrote down and put on the wall some memos for him, saying such as, "I feel sorry that I couldnt protect you and support you while you were alive", "Call me, you fucking bastard, Lee Myung-bak. My number is XXX-XXXX-XXXX." (because some people believe that the current president Mr. Lee made him kill himself), "We love you and will remember you forever.", etc. Even at nights, still many people were staying in the ceremony place to lament the death of the greatest president ever, holding candles.

I saw many writings and comments on this national tragedy written by lots of korean people. I picked up some good short ones.

"The only president I felt sorry that I couldnt vote for him since I was overseas... The only president that broke my heart since I couldnt be there to say good bye... and you're the only president from my homeland I proudly introduce to my son who grows up here learning about Lincoln, Kennedy, and Obama..."

"We remember you, I remember you, I'll make sure my children remember you. Please rest in peace."

"He was the weakest man against weak people. But he was the strongest man against strong man. Who will fight for weak people against strong man?"

"We love you. We believe in you. We're sorry for doing nothing as you've felt lonely. Rest in peace, our only President Roh."

"Every politician in this country is cunning and only caring about his/her political power except for him. He fought against people who has absolute power and has mind blinded supporter. He fought against media which still has infinite power in every corner of Korea."

"I mourn his death deeply. I am so sad that we lost one of our big, bright stars. He was a great man... He was one of few great people in Korea... I believe you... Thank you... Thank you... so much.. and I am so sorry..."

"He was Martin Luther King of South Korea; President Roh always stood and fought for the less fortunate people."

"You will always be my president. You were an only and clean president of the Republic of Korean since 1948 - independence day. We Koreans are proud of you."

"The truth is that he is very loved president especially by minors. Because of that, he had little support in his duty time. So he was attacked so much by powerful majors in Korea. However, tons of minors and the ones knowing truth were on his side."

I didnt like and didnt agree with some of his policies, and was sometimes a bit disappointed by some different political views. But I really liked his personality and his passion and enthusiasm for the country. And the good ideas and visions he had, for example, one of his famous statement is "I want to show an example to our children that we can succeed without any immorality." We lost a great dreamer, a big bright star, a freedom fighter, the first truly democratic president, a visionary leader, Martin Luther King of our country, our personal and national hero, our friend, our brother, and our father... So hopefully... rest in peace again up there...

Former South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun

BBC reported "Former South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun, who has died after falling into a ravine, was a controversial figure whose administration ended last year dogged by scandal and infighting. blablabla"; The New York Times "Former President Roh Moo-hyun of South Korea, whose reputation as an upstanding political leader had been tarnished recently by a corruption scandal, committed suicide on May 23, 2009 by jumping off a cliff near his retirement home, according to his aides and the police. blablabla"; CNN "Former South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun committed suicide Saturday by leaping to his death from a hill behind his house, the government announced. blablabla." There are so many worldwide news about him. But none of them is telling about human Roh Moo-hyun, I mean his personality, because news is, of course, news that is always crazy about political issues and crimes. Thus, I would like to say something about how nice and great he was both as a president and as a person. That's why this tragedy means a lot to many Korean people.

Look at the first series of pictures. He was quite mischievous in casual situations, like a little kid, as you can see. He was witty and funny, so amusing anybody around him. I attended one of the informal lectures he made before he was elected. I was just so excited and pleased by his hilarious talks. He was smoking a cigarette inside a tiny country grocery store. I feel like he is my uncle or any very close person to me when looking at the picture of it. People loved his such easy and free personality. So did I. He was such a natural, humble person not knowing any luxurious stuffs and not having any arrogance. That's what I especially liked. He was never like typical serious and arrogant politicians. He liked being with kids, cycling, and loving and caring people. He was the first president really caring and thinking of all the nation. He cried, shouted, fighted, and suffered for his people. A lot of Koreans consider him as their hero and mourn for him not only because he was the nation's first truly democratic president with his high reputation for political cleanness and as a freedom fighter but also because he was actually like their fathers or brothers who they can trust and love.

He will be missed by most Koreans. And history will judge his greatness. May he rest in peace... and hope his family doesnt suffer too much...

인도 델리의 붉은성 안에서. 지금 보니 옷이 엉망이로다. 부라자끈이 민망하게 보이지를 않나, 티셔츠는 탄자니아에서 산 마후라를 대충 둘러서 옷핀으로 고정시킨 것이고, 치마는 3by3by3 티셔츠를 잘라서 만든 것. 그러고보니 참으로 sustainable하기도 하다!!!! 환경친화적인 스겍군이라 불러달라!!!! 연수가 찍은 사진들이라 항상 사진에 연수가 없었는데 첫번째 사진은 성 안에서 만난 한국인들이 찍어준 것이라 연수가 등장! 예에~~~!!! [photo by Austin and one anonymous korean guy]

think I have to explain about the pictures I am posting coz guess other international people wont be able to figure out what they are... probably some people can guess they are the photos taken during my semi world travel though... so here is it. the pictures seen above were taken inside the Red Fort located in old Delhi, India on 24th, June, 2008, which was the day before my birthday!!!! hahha! it's always good to remind people of when my birthday is. kkkk. the girl in the middle in the first pic is the doctor girl who is working really hard back in south korea now and she is Austin, the photographer of almost all the pics posted here. another girl I was photoing in the last pic is my brave buddy with the spirit of freedom and great enthusiasm for life.

by the way, I had lunch with Sharon and Eunji today. Eunji is kinda my best korean friend in holland according to my definition (hahha!) and Sharon is a singapore girl who I dont really know but do know she is a girl friend of one korean frined of mine and her english pronunciation is somewhat challenging to completely understand. but anyway, after having some good time with those two, I found that Sharon is really nice and open-minded person. still I had sort of hard time to understand her whatever saying. overall, it was truely lovely time. and I see why sharon has so many friends around her. so, Pat, you should meet her some time later personally with lunch or dinner or whatsoever, of course together with me, then you will certainly love her I bet. :-)
